Discernment Therapy

If you’re looking for couples therapy that goes beyond communication tips and surface-level conversations, you’re in the right place.

I specialize in working with couples who are ready to understand what is really happening underneath the conflict, disconnection, resentment, or emotional distance in their relationship, and who are willing to actively work toward something different together.

A big part of my work is helping couples build secure functioning relationships — relationships where both people feel emotionally safe, respected, valued, protected, and understood. That means learning how to move away from blame, defensiveness, shutdown, or keeping score, and toward healthier ways of communicating, repairing conflict, making decisions together, and showing up for each other consistently.

Many couples come in feeling exhausted from repeating the same fights, disconnected despite loving each other, or unsure whether real change is even possible. My goal is to help you leave therapy not only with insight, but with a different experience of each other.

Now for the nerdy part….

I’ve been in private practice since 2014 and completed a post-master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy through Drexel University. I’ve also pursued advanced training in several leading relationship therapy models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), and the Gottman Method.

My approach is active, relational, and experiential, meaning we are not just talking about your relationship intellectually, we are paying attention to what happens between you in real time. Together, we work to slow down painful patterns as they are happening so you can begin experiencing each other differently in the session itself.

Working with me can be deeply transformative for couples who are ready to show up, be honest, and practice new ways of relating both inside and outside of therapy. I can’t wait to meet you!

Therapy for Late Teens and Young Adults

Hey there! I’m Monet Kendall-Turner, a Licensed Associate Counselor. If you’re feeling stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy already thoughtful and self-aware, yet something inside still feels unsettled. I believe that healing is something you already carry within you, just like your body naturally knows how to heal a cut. My role is to help you reconnect with that wisdom and trust yourself again.

With individuals, I help you gently explore the different parts of you with curiosity and compassion. There are no “bad” parts, only parts that learned how to protect you, cope, or survive. When those parts are understood instead of judged, real change begins to happen. This work is about building a kinder relationship with yourself and finding more balance, calm, and joy from the inside out.

With couples, I support partners in slowing things down and finding their way back to each other. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or struggling to rebuild trust, our work focuses on creating safety, strengthening communication, and restoring emotional closeness. It’s not about blame or who is right. It’s about understanding what each of you needs to feel secure, seen, and supported.

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and empowering. You don’t have to try harder or be “better” to heal. You already have what you need inside of you. Together, we create space for clarity, compassion, and meaningful growth, so you can move forward feeling more grounded, whole, and hopeful.

Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
